pubmed-article:7776212pubmed:abstractTextThe purpose of this study was to determine whether walking on a treadmill is a valid simulator of overground walking with respect to rearfoot motion. The tibial, calcaneal, and rearfoot motions of 10 subjects (2 males, 8 females) were videotaped while they walked on a treadmill and overground. The results of a series of t-tests showed that there was no statistically significant difference between the two conditions on any of the variables measured.lld:pubmed
