The author describes the various techniques, now classical, allowing correction of ageing of the middle third of the face: subcutaneous facelift, retightening of the deep planes, SMAS, platysma, as well as more recent procedures: deep facelift, composite facelift, facelift of the Superficial Adipo Cutaneous System (SACS). These techniques are designed to restore a normal position to tissues which have migrated with time: skin, fat and fibromuscular planes. The most difficult correction is that of the nasolabial pouch.
