A pre-employment screening inventory was incorporated into the selection process for a 6-month period. The interview is the most commonly used method for selection of employees. This method, even when well structured, often relies solely on the intuitive skills of the interviewer. The use of a pre-employment screening inventory can provide standardized and objective information that may facilitate the selection of successful employees. Early evaluation of the standardized inventory should be conducted to determine whether the benefits of using this procedure exceed the costs.
