Nasotracheal intubation is a useful technique for intubating the conscious, active patient. This can be accomplished blindly without sedation or muscle relaxation and without the trauma of laryngoscopy. The method is not new but is not well known in proportion to its usefulness. Attention to detail renders the procedure safe, certain and atraumatic for patient and physician alike.
