The significance of CT in the preoperative radiological diagnosis of bronchogenic carcinoma has been examined in 37 patients. Today it is possible to make a more accurate diagnosis regarding the following points: 1. The determination of the number and the localisation of peripheral tumors and metastases 2. Staging the tumor (T-, N- and M-stadium) 3. Determination of the extension of the primary tumor in the neighborhood. Therefore CT should precede thoracotomy in bronchogenic carcinoma.
