From the authors' data adenogenic cancer of the esophagus was found in 11 out of 90 patients who were subjected to intrathoracic extirpation of the esophagus in Dobromyslov-Torek method. The macroscopic pattern of glandular cancers of the esophagus characterized by a diffuse-infiltrative growth with the involvement of all the layers of the wall and ulceration of the mucous membrane is described.
