An original study evaluated choroidal capillary bed filling by analyzing results of angiographic examinations in 102 diabetic patients. Delayed filling of some localized choroidal capillary zones was noted in 46.88 p. cent of cases, widespread ischemic areas in the middle choroidal region being rarely observed (2.94 p. cent of cases). Optical microscopy examination after Indian Ink injection in the choroids showed vascular anomalies, microaneurysms, and obliterated zones similar to the retinal changes of diabetic patients.
