The functional activity of the transplanted (additional) liver and its efficiency in the treatment of critical hepatic insufficiency was studied in experiments on dogs. Without an immunosuppression being used the additionally transplanted liver manifests its functional activity in the recipient's organism within 4 days and is able to support the animal's life for 3-4 days.
