The number of T and B lymphocytes in 32 patients with sinobronchitic syndrome was evaluated. T cell numbers were determined by E rosette formation, and direct immunofluorescence was employed to study the B cell surface receptors. Results were compared with data from healthy individuals. A relative increase in the total lymphocyte population and a statistically significant increase in the number of B lymphocytes with IgG-SIg in the patients was observed. From our results, humoral immune response does not seem to participate significantly in the pathogenesis of the sinobronchitic syndrome.
