Fabre's prostatectomy technique was applied to 100 consecutive unselected patients with no mortality and minor complications. Three technical failures were recorded. No urethral catheter was used, the bladder being drained through a lateral hypogastric stabwound. The incidence of urinary infection was greatly reduced in this series.
