A simple method of fixing the mobilized rectum to the sacrum by sutures is described to treat complete rectal prolapse. Its use over 12 years in 32 patients (29 women and 3 men), 17 with various forms of dementia, is reported with one recurrence for which a repeat identical procedure was successful.
