A simple method for selective extraction of beta, beta'-iminodipropionitrile (IDPN) from animal tissue and a sensitive method for its detection by dansylation is described. By this method, IDPN could be shown to be present in brain, liver and kidney as well as in blood and urine of rats 30 min after i.p. administration.
