A program for investigating the stimulus forming and excitation conduction systems of the human heart by programmed stimulation and intracardiac lead, with its most important clinical indications, is presented. The parameters to be determined for function analysis of the individual structures, such as the corrected sinus node recovery time, conduction rates and functional and effective refractory periods are discussed with their electrophysiological principles and their clinical information value.
