By the equilibrium ultracentrifugation in the CsCl density gradient, high-resolution thermal denaturation and kinetics of reassociation the genomes of some higher plants were investigated. It is shown that nuclear DNAs of nonsatellite species Phaseolus aureus and Brassica oleracea contain fractions, resembling DNA satellite components of Phaseolus vulgaris and Brassica nigra. These fractions are not detected as discrete components because of insufficient length of blocks, containing the sequences of satellite DNAs.
