Antibody has been prepared to a hydrophobic myelin protein in rabbits using several different adjuvants. This antibody was found to react with the myelin basic protein. This latter activity could be absorbed out with basic protein leaving the reactivity to the hydrophobic protein, suggesting that the two myelin proteins shared a common antigenic determinant. In addition, the hydrophobic protein appears to possess a unique antigenic determinant.
