Shoulder arthrodesis through the posterior approach in 6 patients with the average follow-up of 20 months has been described. There were no surgical complications. In all cases the position of the arm was determined clinically and placed in 20 degrees abduction, 30 degrees forward flexion, and 40 degrees internal rotation.
