PIP: Clinical experiences with the use of Ovosiston in the treatment of hirsutism in 44 women are reported. Ovosiston was given as for contraception. Improvement, including decrease in facial hair, was noted in 32 patients. Improvement appeared to be related to increasing length of treatment, lower patient age, and intact ovulatory cycle as well as to familial predisposition. Previous reports of depressed 17-detosteroid excretion during treatment with ovulation inhibitors were confirmed.
