At present, the role of exercise testing in asymptomatic individuals is limited, and the test should be applied only selectively. Regardless of this, the popularity of wellness programs and the widespread use of exercise testing in asymptomatic groups continue. The preceding discussion presents some guidelines to help improve on the diagnostic accuracy of exercise testing in all patients, with special emphasis on its use in asymptomatic individuals.
