An anterior detrusor tube bladder neck reconstruction was performed in 8 girls with urogenital sinus anomalies during a 15-year period. A good or excellent result was achieved in 63 per cent of the patients. The surgical technique entails the creation of a long anteriorly based detrusor tube (6 to 7 cm.) tunneled subsymphyseal to the introitus, which provides access for clean intermittent catheterization. Augmentation cystoplasty, which was incorporated into the reconstruction in 1 case, may enhance further the success rates with this approach.
