During the first period of a total closed-circuit anaesthesia the unit dose must be injected relatively often and the gas flows have to be adjusted. To help the anaesthetist, especially during this period, an electronic timer was constructed where an acoustic signal indicated the square of time when the unit dose had to be given. The construction of the electronic timer is described here.
