The study compared the clinico-morphologic features of 105 cases of histologically verified malignant melanoma of the skin involving BANS zone and those of 450 controls. The former tumors predominated in males and more often become ulcerated. The end results were similar in both groups. Involvement of BANS zone was shown to be irrelevant in prognosis of skin melanoma.
