Circulating levels of prolactin, dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEAS) and testosterone (T) were measured in single blood samples from 115 normal women throughout the menstrual cycle. There was an inverse relationship between prolactin and both DHEAS and T. Subjects with high serum prolactin levels had significantly lower levels of DHEAS and T.
