Ventricular fibrillation, commonly underlying sudden coronary death, was found to display heterogenous morphologic picture of myocardial damage with ischemic and necrotic foci disseminated along left ventricular wall. These are suggested as a possible cause of the fibrillations. The study was based on the results of immunoperoxidase technique and Regaud's staining.
