Bowenoid papulosis is a new and rather frequent entity affecting young men and women. Clinically, the lesions consists of multiple red or brown papules in the genitoanal region. Histologically, the papules shows alterations of the epidermis similar to those in Bowen's disease. The course of the disease, however, is benign. Recent investigations by zur Hausen, Ikenberg et al. have demonstrated the presence of HPV type 16-DNA in bowenoid papulosis.
