A great proportion of older housing facilities in Copenhagen are occupied by elderly individuals whose flats are heated by petroleum stoves. These individuals have frequently reduced mobility and may risk falling while filling their stoves. They may thus be exposed to the effect of the toxic fluid on the skin. The clinical pictures in two cases are described.
