The many potential problems related to liver transplantation are intensified when the recipient is an infant or a child. The nursing diagnoses and interventions presented in this article can be a guide to the critical care nurse in management of sources of infection, rejection by the patient's own immune system, fluid volume, and electrolyte balance.
