In the title mol-ecule, C(9)H(4)I(2)OS(2), the two five-membered rings form a dihedral angle of 64.2?(2)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into layers parallel to the ab plane. The crystal packing exhibits short C?I contacts of 3.442?(5)?Å between the mol-ecules of adjacent layers.
