Postoperative pancreatic fistula (postoperative pancreatic fistula [POPF]) is the most common complication after pancreaticoduodenectomy. Despite some studies showing little effect of octreotide in unselected patients, we hypothesized that in high-risk patients depot octreotide may reduce the risk of POPF.
