Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) has been reported to be useful for lymph node staging in lung cancer. The role of EBUS-TBNA in the diagnosis of mediastinal masses of unknown etiology has not been described. The purpose of the current study was to investigate the clinical utility of EBUS-TBNA in the diagnosis of mediastinal masses of unknown etiology.
