pubmed:abstractText	Scientific publication is used by researchers to transmit information and is the means through which scientists can validate the results obtained in their studies. The rapid introduction of electronic scientific journals faces training specialists with an endless source of information. This article discusses the present and future of biomedical journals in the field of clinical microbiology. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of the main sources of information for training specialists in microbiology and parasitology are also evaluated.
