Perfusion of Rat liver with an oxyphoretic emulsion containing a mixture of perfluorodecalin and N,N-perfluorodiethylcyclohexylamine provides a good oxygenation of the tissue. During perfusion hepatocytes take up some emulsion micelles and this uptake markedly increases when tissue perfusion is suboptimal.
