Early colorectal cancer (CRC) with submucosal deep (s.m.-d.) invasion should not be treated with endoscopic mucosal resection due to the higher incidence of lymph-node metastasis. It is, therefore, clinically important to accurately diagnose s.m.-d. lesions before treatment.
