Gonadotropin free alpha-subunit (FAS) levels paradoxically increase during GnRH agonist (GnRHa) treatment of central precocious puberty (CPP). The histrelin implant suppresses gonadotropins and estradiol (E(2)) levels for 1 yr, but effects on FAS have not been described.
