Decreased susceptibility of endometrial tissue to apoptosis may contribute to the pathogenesis of endometriosis. We investigate the role of survivin in the pathophysiology of endometriosis through the ability of ectopic and eutopic endometrial stromal cells (ESCs) to resist apoptosis.
