A number of literature has now identified the role of impaired nitric oxide synthase/nitric oxide pathway in the endothelium as the central to the development of erectile dysfunction (ED) and benign prostate hyperplasia-related lower urinary tract symptoms (BPH/LUTS). Recently a few studies have reported the associations between endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) G894T gene polymorphisms and ED. However, there has been no report investigating the eNOS G894T genetic susceptibility factor for both ED and BPH/LUTS.
