Disturbances in mineral metabolism and bone disease are common complications of CKD. These complications are named as Chronic Kidney Disease-Mineral and Bone Disorder (CKD-MBD) , CKD-MBD includes abnormal mineral metabolism, altered bone structure and composition, and extraskeletal calcification. In order to prevent the disorders, control of serum phosphate and calcium levels are needed.
