Single-lung ventilation (SLV) during thoracic surgery causes important cardiopulmonary disturbances. Absolute cerebral oximetry was used to determine the incidence and magnitude of the decrease in cerebral oxygen saturation (Sct(o(2))) in patients undergoing SLV during thoracic surgery.
