During a series of experiments it was noted that a proportion of birds sacrificed after ingesting aflatoxin B1 had small accessory liver lobes which appeared less abnormal in colour. No histopathological differences were observed but specific activities of several hepatic enzymes were less depressed in the accessory lobe than in the remainder of the liver.
