Hereditary benign intraepithelial dyskeratosis (HBID) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder characterized by elevated epibulbar and oral plaques and hyperemic conjunctival blood vessels. The condition is predominantly seen in Native Americans belonging to the Haliwa-Saponi tribe located in northeastern North Carolina.
