Multiply traumatised patients often suffer from blood loss and from subsequent therapy-resistant anaemia, possibly mediated by apoptosis, necrosis, or humoral factors. Therefore, the underlying mechanisms were investigated in bone marrow (BM) and peripheral blood in a murine resuscitated haemorrhagic shock (HS) model.
