A new animal model in which to concurrently evaluate bladder function and nociceptive behavior was developed using freely moving, noncatheterized, conscious rats to assess the nociceptive behavior responses induced by intravesical instillation of resiniferatoxin (Sigma) and its relationship with bladder dysfunction.
