The increase of intraoperative radiation exposure in intramedullary techniques of osteosynthesis is recognised and accepted in adults especially in interlocked nailing. In contrast data about fluoroscopy times in elastic stable intramedullary nailing (ESIN) in children and adolescents are hardly available.
