Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy (TTC) is an acute reversible cause of segmental myocardial dysfunction that is poorly understood. We have noted a variant of this condition where a tiny segment at the apex retains some contractile function. This paper delineates the frequency of this variant relative to the classical form and the clinical differences between patients suffering from the two forms.
