Complex injuries of the upper extremity remain a therapeutic challenge. The prognosis of the damaged extremity is often limited by soft tissue defects. Vacuum Assisted Closure (V.A.C.) therapy facilitates temporary coverage of soft tissue defects prior to surgical reconstruction.
