Auditory Neuropathy (AN) is defined as a sensorineural hearing loss characterized by normal cochlear haircell function (assessed by recordable Otoacoustic Emissions) and absent or abnormal auditory brainstem evoked potentials (ABR) corroborated with absence of middle ear reflexes.
