Pulmonary disease caused by nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) may occur in patients with no underlying lung disease and no known immunodeficiency. The purpose of this study was to evaluate a potential role for natural-resistance-associated macrophage protein 1 (NRAMP1) gene polymorphisms for human susceptibility to the NTM lung disease.
