The majority of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) seems to be non-erosive reflux disease. Nonerosive reflux disease includes minimal change oesophagitis (whitish or reddish, oedematous change and erosion that is not regarded as mucosal break) and no endoscopic abnormalities.
