Without effective adjunctive therapy, the recurrence rate after excision of recurrent pterygia is high. In an effort to determine a way to better reduce the recurrence of pterygia, we compared the efficacy and safety of amniotic membrane graft (AMG) alone and AMG combined with intraoperative mitomycin C after excision of recurrent pterygia.
