Background gamma spectra, taken with one HPGe detector between 1987 and 2003, are summed up to represent a total collect time of 1.03x10(8) s. Standard background gamma lines belonging to the natural decay series as well as more uncommon ones are identified. A high temporal variability of the background lines related to radon decay products is found in comparison with lines related to other radionuclides contained in the environment and in the structural material of the detector.
