In subjects with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) undergoing hemodialysis, aortic pulse wave velocity (PWV) is increased independently of blood pressure level and mostly is a strong predictor of cardiovascular risk. Few studies on this subject have been performed in renal transplant patients.
